St Louis de Montfort Acadamy Herndon Pa

The day following Sandy, I was to be visiting the TFP Academy at Herndon, about 90 minutes north.
I called to check things were ok travel wise. I got an all clear nd headed off at 10am.

The roads were fine. Not too much traffic as most places were still closed. There were many trees down, and flooded streams and rivers, but at about 11.30am, the Academy was reached.

I saw the new classrooms, had a look round the older part of the building, the gym hall and the workshop.
I discovered that in the Academy, some of the boys rooms lack heating, and that rising bell is at 5.45am, so they can leave at 6.15am for Mass at a nearby Carmel Convent. Classes run from 9.15am till about 4pm.
Lights out is 9.15pm. Everyone seems happy and cheerful. Everyone takes an active part in the daily life of the Academy.

I was invited to dinner, cooked by some of the boys as the cook had not come in that day due to the storm. All in all, I was there for about 3 hours. I left as a small gift a set of dvds by Neill Oliver, "A History of Scotland."
