Marriage, Husbands and Wives

And so, the race to destroy Marriage continues in every country around the world.
In the UK, the issue was never in the Manifestos of any party, but hey! they are all pushing for same sex marriage. The Scottish Parliament is falling over itself to have the legislation on the Books first!

Let us be clear. What I write here is not homophobic. It is a defence of what has been understood by the term Marriage for countless years.

Those with same sex attractions are being used in this action. They do not realise that they are simply pawns in a much bigger game.
Those behind same sex marriage have no care for homosexuals or for marriage. They actually despise Marriage!
What these architects of this policy seek is nothing less than the destruction of marriage, the Family, and Society as we understand it.

They would be unable to achieve this aim if they stated it baldly. So instead, they approach it stealthily, using same sex marriage..."equality for all" as a subterfuge. Watch and see. Once the legislation is enacted, all the so called "protections" for those who have conscientious objections will come under increasing attack. Clergymen, teachers, doctors, nurses, parents, the man in the street will all find themselves being hounded as "homophobic" for standing up for what they know and believe to be the truth.
Teachers will be called to task for refusing to teach that same sex marriage is normal. Churches and Clergy will be sued for refusing to carry out same sex marriage services.

But remember, there is a that much bigger goal in mind. The elimination of Christian Order.

It is staggering to watch as the lawyers and Lawmakers juggle with the Law, trying to adapt it to the new situations. Mother and Father to be replaced on Birth Documents. Husband and Wife to be applied to either sex! It is just illogical! And this is only the beginning.

I was musing about this situation. A Lord marries another man. If the Lord is the "Husband", is his "Wife" to become a Lady?
If the Lord is the "Wife", does he cease to be a "Lord" and become a "Lady"?

You might laugh, but this will arise.
And the financial implications of this legislation are going to have serious effects on pensions and welfare payments, at a time when all political parties are looking at means testing Pensioners, who have paid into the system for 40 years.
We will not go into the facts about the huge pensions and expenses that MPs enjoy, while attacking the poorest in Society.

And the fact that " a majority vote " approved same sex legislation means nothing if the matter is a matter of morality or conscience.
To quote the old song...If 99 people out of 100 said it was alright to shove you granny off the bus, that would not make such an action good, or right or just.

This matter is not about Rights. It is not about discrimination. It attempts to make legal that which is abnormal. To make legal that which is unnatural.
Again I repeat, this is not homophobic.

Think about what to male homosexuals actually do. It is perfectly clear that they are using their bodies in a way that is unnatural, and using parts of their bodies for a function for which it was not designed.

Sex was designed for the procreation of new people, which the world needs. Marriage gave it a framework which gave protection and stability to Husband, Wife and Children.
Repeated studies have shown, and continue to show, that the Natural Family - Mum, Dad, Children - is the best basis for a flourishing Society.

The chaos of the last decades have clearly shown the adverse affects on Society of the breakdown of this model. Huge numbers of single parents. Couples living together outside of marriage with all the problems that brings in terms of sexual abuse and murder of children by live in partners.

Part of todays problem is down to the fact, not that we have an aging population, but that not enough children are being born to support the pensions of the elderly. Todays old folk paid the pensions of those who had retired before them. Now we face the prospect of too few workers. And this problem will only get worse as the number of children being born decreases.
Homosexual marriage, contraception and abortion are not ways to procreate a new generation.

Sure, not all marriages survive. Not all are perfect. But if greater support had been give to Families, then we would not be in the position we are in today.
Married couples are financially more penalised than couples living together. The promised tax break for marriage - in the Tory Manifesto- has not appeared. Not enough money. But there is money for same sex marriage - not in the Tory Manifesto.

So please. Stop and think beyond personal preferences. See over the fence.

Homosexual couples are being used to bring about the end of Marriage and the Family. They are the bullets. They are being used as cannon fodder. Once same sex marriage has been legalised, the next stage of the plan will be put into motion.
Be afraid. Be very afraid!

Schoenstatt

Today 16 parishioners and our Parish priest took a coach out to Campsie Glen to spend a few hours at the Schoenstatt Retreat Centre.
We were limited in number because of the difficulty of hiring  a coach at this time of the year, and also the tiny church will only seat about 30 people.

Schoenstatt came to Scotland in 1969. The German bishops wished to establish a centre for German Catholics living in Scotland.
The Shrine which stands today in a secluded Glen just outside Glasgow was opened in 1989.
It has continued to develop over the years, not only catering for German people, but also to Catholics from all over Scotland and further afield too.
Today they offer retreats on a variety of topics, and also can accommodate those who wish to spend some days in quiet reflection.
Recently, nearly 3000 Catholic school children have made a visit ti=o the shrine, an event which has become an annual event.

After a slightly extended journey - the driver was following a Sat Nav that was taking us further away until he listened to my advice - we reached the Shrine.

We had a pleasant cup of coffee, we moved to the lounge where we had 2 presentations. The first was a thought provoking talk on the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The second was a 20 minute meditation on Sacred Music.

We then moved to the beautiful little Church where Fr. Wilson celebrated Mass.

Finally we had a lovely lunch, spent some money in the gift shop, and then made the journey home ignoring the sat Nav.

Una Voce Mass at Seton Collegiate Church June 22

On Saturday we travelled through to Seton Collegiate Church near Aberlady in East Lothian.

Una Voce had arranged for Mass to be said in the Exraordinary Rite that morning. On the way through, we ran into some short but extremely heavy downpours, but just before 11am, we arrived at the Church in sunshine.

The building must be one of the finest Medieval Churches in Scotland, and much of the exterior of the building is intact, including the roof.
The Church began as a Parish Church in the 12th Century for the people of Seton Village.
By the 15th Century, it had become the private chapel and burial place for the Seton Family, who lived in the Castle next to the Church.
It was dedicated to St. Mary and the Holy Cross.
in 1470, Lord Seton introduced the College of priests, and his son gained Papal approval for full Collegiate status in 1492.
Collegiate Churches are so called because a number of priests would be brought there by a landowner to pray and offer Masses for him and his family.

But the Protestant Reformation brought an end to the Church. The altars, side chapels and statues were all destroyed by the fanatic reformers. The Masses ended.
Briefly it bcame a parish church, but fell into disuse.
After the 1715 Jacobite Rebellion, the Church was ransacked the Seton Family tombs were broken into, as the family had been supporters of the Catholic King James.
During the English incursions during the "Rough Wooing,", the English army burned the timbers and stole the organ and the Bell, in the 1540s.

At Saturday's Mass there was only a handful of people in the congregation. Unless you have a car, it is not that easy to get to.
It was a sung Mass, celebrated by Fr. Emerson.
