I am still out teaching, and in fact now have a class, covering for a colleague who retired at Christmas. Not how I thought things would pan out. It's hard after being out of the classroom for so long, but I am getting there.
So this long weekend is a very welcome break.
We are staying at a Best Western Braidhills, just outside Edinburgh. We arrived yesterday evening after visiting Neil and Karen to hear about their trip to Pennsylvania and Ecuador. We saw some of their photos. We went to vigil Mass at Mussleburgh and then on to the Hotel. We ate at the bistro beside the hotel, as it is half the cost of eating here.
Today we drove up to St Andrews. It was foggy on the way here, especially after crossing the Forth Bridge, but it cleared and St Andrews was bright and sunny. We spent a pleasant few hours before heading back to Edinburgh.
Tomorrow we will meet up with Gerry and John. Sod's Law...John is in Glasgow tomorrow for meetings, so it will be late afternoon before he is back over here. He has a Ghost tour in the evening too.
