Last week we took advantage of the long weekend to head up north beyond Inverness to Strathpeffer.
Strathpeffer was at one time a popular spa town.
The railway used to be here and the station is now a little craft and coffee shop area.
I took with me H V Morton's book, "In Scotland Again" It is an old book but he was a fantastic travel writer and I love his style of writing. And it added to my enjoyment of the holiday as I will relate to you in other posts.
We Stayed from Monday to Friday in a comfortable hotel that looks down to the village. From here we explored the immediate area and further afield going as far as Ullapool.
