I often shop at Tesco. But that stops now.
I have just learned that Tesco are supporting Gay Pride.
If they do this, I trust that all those who find the paractice of homosexuality sinful, morally wrong and contrary to the Law of God, will cease supporting Tesco.
It is also important that if you are offended by Tesco's actions, you will write to the CEO in measured terms, advising him of the business consequences of this decision.
Homosexuals comprise 1% of the population. How many of them shop at Tesco?
What percentage of Christian families shop at Tesco?
I am certain that Tesco would re think its position if hundreds of thousands of customers vanished, and just before the lucrative Christmas spend time....or Winterfest as described by those not wishing to offend non Christians, or those who want all signs of Christianity to be proscribed.
Christians must now start publicly expressing our unhappiness at the moral decline and liberalisation of our Society. The "anything goes" ideology must be countered.
Governments are trying to re define the meaning of Marriage which has been understood for 2 thousand years or more. As Christians, it is our duty now to stand up and make our views heard and respected. The Laws of God are more important than the laws of man or political correctness.
A hundred years ago Communist Russia was the only country where things such as Abortion were legal. Can you name a country in the world today where such practises are illegal? Such is the decline of Christian Civilisation. If we do nothing now, soon, it will be too late.
And please....I am not homo-phobic. I am vehemently against what they do because I believe it morally wrong and intrinsically evil and counter to the good of Society.
The world needs all Christians today to stand up and fight for decency and moral standards in every walk of life! Time is of the essence.
And one day we will have to answer to God for all our deeds and non deeds.

Back in Scotland
I arrived home this morning about 6 am. Yesterday was a very long day indeed.
It would appear that I left the courtesy light on in my car, because it would not start. I had to wait an hour for the breakdown service to get me started.
I really enjoyed my trip to America, and I hope there will be another trip sometime in the not too distant future.
Over the next few posts I will write a bit more and add a few more photos.
Too tired right now for very much.
It is nice to be home.

Last Night in America
All too quickly my week here in the United States of America is over.
This afternoon, I left Pennsylvania and entered Maryland. Tonight I am at my hotel near Baltimore Washington Airport.
I am happy to be going home. I miss my dear wife and my children....and home.
It has been a wonderful week. I wish I had more time. There is so much to see even in these 2 States alone.
I have met a large number of kind folk.
At the TFP Conference, people from North and South America.
The people at St Joseph's Parish in York who made me welcome and willingly offered prayers for a special intention.
The staff and boys....young men is more appropriate...at St Louis marie de Montfort Academy.
Hotel staff, restaurant staff, and the Ranger I met today, Mr Moriarity, when I made a quick detour to Gettysburg.
The TFP Conference definitely challenged me, and all who were there.
My visits to Gettysburg I will not forget. That so many died in those fields where I stood, almost 150 years ago. It is place where you dwell on the futility and waste of War, and marvel at the courage of Mankind.
And the snow...wow. A record setting event for America. Even today, 4 days on, snow is still to be seen on the ground, in trees, on roofs.
Tomorrow will be a long day. I fly out from here at 11am, then at 7.35 pm, I depart Newark Liberty Airport, and am due back at Glasgow at 7am on Friday.
God willing, I will be back in my own home by 8am.
Au Revoir America! I want to come back. Over the next weeks I will re- live my week, re -visit in my mind all the places I saw, remember all the kind folk I met.
I have visited 2 States, Pennsylvania and Maryland. How many does that leave?

To Gettysburg....Again!
I went back to Gettysburg yesterday.
Somehow I had managed to delete most of my photos from my Friday Visit.
On the way, I passed a Walmart, so popped in there to buy some peanut goodies.
Gettysburg this time was in the snow, and I enjoyed the whole scenario again, Film, Cyclorama, and the Battlefield. I got to parts of the field I had missed last time. It does cover an extremely large area.
It is a fascinating era in History, and one I never tire of reading of, or investigating.
If you are ever in this area of Pennsylvania, it really is a huge MUST!
TFP Conference 2011
I am afraid I am going to upset some people with this blog. It is not my intention. I truly do not intend any offence. I have things I need to say, but I lack the eloquence and the uintellect to do so well. Please if you are offended, read it a couple of times and try to understand what I am trying to say.
This Conference was the prime reason for my first visit to the USA. I am so glad I came.
Over the weekend we had a series of talks covering a range of issues affecting the World and the Catholic Church. The talks also made we aware of just how passive Catholics and Christians in general, have become in the face of a concerted attack on everything that Christian Civilisation holds dear.
Where to start? Consider......ahundred years or so ago, only the Government of Soviet Russia espoused abortion, contraception, divorce, free love and so on.
Today? Can you name a country where such practices are not legal? Isn't that numbing?
In the space of a hundred years, many things which were regarded as being good for the well being of family life and Society have been swept aside.
And what have we done to prevent it? Have we protested? Written to our MP? Written to the Press? Complained about pornography on TV, Films, and books?
I remember the late Bishop in Glasgow, Charles Renfrew, discussing how corrupted we were becoming, by asking an audience of Catholic Parents what it would take before they would get up and turn off a TV programme?
Have we taken to the streets to make our feelings known?
Sadly, too many of us have become passive. An excuse? Jesus told us not to strike back but to offer our other cheek?
The Revolution is sweeping us aside, and we are offering no resistance, because we are too diffident, too busy, too afraid. Let someone else do it...not me Lord! We do not want to become targets of the Revolution.
We should not be surprised. Jesus said, " If they hated me, they will hate you. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you."
Unless we find the courage to stand up, everything we believe in will be destroyed.
The Abortion Act got through because of in-action. Same sex marriage...an oxymoron....euthanasia are next. If we do not stand up to be counted, these will become law.
What next? Can no one see the road we are hurtling down? The reformation seeks the destruction of family, of morality, of decency, all in the name of rights. "It is my right to do whatever I choose to make me happy as long as I don't hurt anyone else."
At the conference, we had a High Mass, with a sermon which must have lasted 40 minutes. A powerful, thought provoking sermon.
This evening I attended Mass in York Pa. It was a Franciscan Church. The Church was impressive, but the Tabernacle has been moved away from the centre of Church. I could not actually see it from where I was in the Church.
The congregation were quiet and respectful. No one talked before, during or after Mass. Oh for that in Scotland!
Father said the Mass with dignity. He made excellent points in his sermon, telling us to look beyond the statues-the images of the saints- to find the real people behind that image. The saints who struggled, who had doubts, who failed at times.
But with every respect to Father, it was gentle, sometimes jocular delivery. It did not challenge us to do something!
We need more. We need to be challenged. We need to be sent out ready to defend our Faith and our Church, no matter the cost. That is not easy. But God and Our Lady will give us the courage we need.
Look on U tube. Find the videos of the younf TFP members facing up to hostile groups as they seek to defend Catholic Truth and Virtue. They are scared! But they do it because they know someone has to do it.
We need to be prepared to take that risk. We need to be out there protesting and being noticed!
Right now in Scotland we are faced with a Scottish Nationalist Government who are seeking to re-define the meaning of Marriage, and allow so called same sex marriage.
Read Scripture. God made them male and female.
I am not homo-phobic. Those who oppose same sex marriages are not homo-phobic.
There is no homosexual gene.
Homosexuality is an inclination. We all have inclinations. Some of us are inclined to drink too much. Others have an inclination to steal. Yet others to kill. Some are inclined to seek sex with children.
But we do not introduce legislation to allow such individuals to carry out their inclinations. Why not? Because it would not make sense.
And yet we propose to pass legislation to allow those with a homo-sexual inclination have their
relationships given equal status with what has been accepted legally as Marriage for thousands of years.
How long before a paedophile organisation will begin to campaign for their inclination to be legalised in the same was as homosexual couples?
Catholics must protest against this proposed legislation. We have to tell our MSPs that this is not acceptable. Tell them why. And tell them your conscience will not allow you to vote at an election for any person who supports any legislation which is contrary to the Laws of God.
In one of the U tube videos,a masked youth screams..."God is Dead! He didn't die for my sins, but His!"
And the next piece of legislation waiting still off stage is Euthansia.
If Chrisians do not stand up now and say "Enough is Enough!", then there is little to stop the Revolution ach, ving its aims. The total destruction of moral standards, the destruction of the Family, and the breakdown of Civilised Society.
The time is now. If we delay, it will be too late. There is an awful lot at stake.
What are you going to do about it?
And one day, we will have to Stand before a Loving God, but one who is also Just, and we will have to answer for all our deeds and non deeds.

Pennsylvania in the snow
The weather forecast did say there would be snow, as much as 10 inches. I did not really believe that, but on Saturday morning as I drove to Spring Grove for the start of the TFP 2011 Conference, it began to snow. And it continued to fall throughout the day. At first it waswet snow but eventually it began to accumulate until we had a sizeable depth of snow.
I was concerned about the journey back to my hotel at York, since it would be 9pm, dark and possibly icy.
But about 8pm, it stopped snowing. I got out to the car and brushed off the snow from the windshield. I had difficulty getting the car over the snow piled up in front of my car, but eventually I got out.
\the driveway had been ploughed and de iced, and when I got to the main road, it was clear, and no ice. I noticed the pavements were being cleared too, and the shoppling malll parks were clear as well. I passed 2 snow ploughs on the highway who were now clearing the snow from the edge of the road onto the hard shoulder. Impressive.
Back home, this amount of snow would have brought us to a standstill.

Gettysburg
This morning was cold, but sunny, so I decided to go to Gettysburg today.
ivil War and with the battle
It was about 45 minute drive. I crossed 3 roundabouts....novelty here!
I went to the town first. It has a huge connection with the Civil War and the battle which was fought all around it. The wounded were brought here. Many of the houses have links to those 3 days. And there are so many shops selling reproduction war goods, and in some cases real artefacts. Very expensive of course.
I visited the old railway station, had a coffee, then headed out to the Battlefield.
There is a Visitor Centre. There I watched a 25 minute movie about the Battle. A tremendous film, narrated my Morgan Freeman.
Then there was a circular room with a battlefield painting of 360 degrees, with an audio commentary.
Then I went round the museum.
Next was a Battlefield tour. You can drive round, or take a tour bus. You need 3 hours it says.
The battlefield is extensive. There are still buildings from thetime of the Battle, some still bearing the scars of Battle.
All in all, a fascinating and rewarding day.
This evening I spent at the TFP headquarters in Spring Grove. It was a social evening with beer and pizza and ice cream. The conference starts tomorrow.
Pics are Gettysburg town and battlefield
